An Ordinance to provide that with certain excentiona no person shall realde within the Peak District with-

out the consent of the Governor-in-Ccuno±1.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong,

with the advice and consort of the Legislative Council

thereof, as follows:-

Short title.

Interpre- tation.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Peak Dietriot

(Residence) Ordinance, 1918.

2. In this Crdinance, "Pear District" means all

that area in the Island of Hongkong situated above the 788

feet contour and to the west of a line drawn in a north

and south direction through Middle on Cemetery Gap, includ-

ing the hills known as Mount Cameron, Mount Gough, Mount

Kellett and Victoria Peak.

No person to reside with- in the Peak Listrict without the consent of

the Governor in Council.

3. (1) Subject to the provisions of section 4 ce

this Ordinance, it shall not be lawful for any rensch

whatsoever to reside within the Peak List wict without

the consent of the Governor in Council.

(2) Any such ocnsent may he river so as to

include the following persona:-

(a) the members of the family of the person

to whom the consert te veri

(b) the domestic servants of such perecns; and

(c) bona fide visitong entertained gatu!tá-

ouely by such person.

(3) Any suot oonsent may he "ercked by the Governor in Council at any time on cix monthe notice in

writing.
